As we’ve seen from lots of reports in recent years, Trump appears to be a one-man crime wave! Now that Russia, Ukraine & impeachment have drifted away from the headlines, our posted links in Part 1 detailing the prez’s illegal activities have greatly reduced in number, but it’s just a matter of time before more solid evidence of criminal behavior again dominates the news cycles. It’s just who he is!

As always, Part 2 contains information on our president’s assailing the rule of law & democratic institutions, posing a legitimate threat for bringing the curse of autocratic tyranny upon America. Part 2 also exposes his enablers, those messaging mouthpieces & rabid supporters willingly sacrificing values & truths in empowering a corrupt demagogue. We truly haven’t seen anyone occupying the White House who’s anything like Trump, & whichever prior president from history who might be considered in 2nd place for offering up the risk of fascism, he’s nowhere near approaching the same level of rogue authoritarianism as the burden we’re enduring now.
Trump keeps corrupting everyone he touches while demonizing anyone who dares try pushing back. With a lawless lying president looking to run roughshod over the courts, intelligence community, media & political opponents, as a country we might be able to rebound from 4 years of Trump, but a second term would likely do irreparable damage to our constitutional republic. Obliterating the balance of power in our longstanding checks & balances really might pave the way to fascism. Sure, our economic structure produces enormous wealth with plenty of jobs available, but that only helps disguise the ongoing structural problems that bedevil our economy. Much of the working class continues to get the short-end of the stick, exposing flaws to the system which aren’t going away on their own & require smart intervention. If we are ever going to restore the great middle class & American Dream, it won’t come about by anything we’re doing now.
And it also won’t happen with many of the proposals from either party, as throwing more government money at the troubles or letting the free market sort it out won’t resolve the core issues. Our complex economy has become hopelessly disjointed, top-heavy & inequitable from which those conditions can only worsen unless we can figure out some feasible remedies. The answers should come from within the parameters of capitalism, while happening soon before the public’s anxiety & frustrations spill over into opting for socialism.
Such solutions are only possible through bright ideas & sincere discussions, which most importantly can evolve from uniting around a fierce determination that we do need to try something different. The challenges of the modern-day global economy require forward thinking, not trying to grasp onto outdated policies from the previous century which have little relevancy to current times. Those who claim fixes aren’t needed are a big part of the problem.
The economic circumstances have actually become a sick joke when this preposterously wealthy nation sees half its employed population suffering from perpetual financial anxiety. Besides the stagnant wages, there’s also the stress levels that come with most jobs as big corporations hold all the cards, a concern we don’t talk enough about. It’s just unconscionable the way we treat many of our workers, systematically suppressing their incomes so the wealth of the top 1% can accelerate. Just look at these link titles below! Not only does Trump’s incompetence ring true loud & clear, but he’s gaslighting the nation with claims completely antithetical to the truth. The low number of cases diagnosed in America so far probably has a direct correlation to our pathetically irresponsible lack of testing done, presumably due to the optics an actual higher count could be politically damaging to Trump. Plenty of ridiculous spin was spun at his Saturday presser, which contradicted some of the statements made just the night before at one of his cult rallies. As Trump & his spin-machine downplay the threat & try blaming the Dems or the media, it only leaves our nation less prepared to deal with this emerging health crisis.
Only time will tell how bad & longstanding this virus becomes. What we do know is COVID-19 is more contagious & deadlier than the flu. But the undeniable lesson we’ve learned with Trump about Coronavirus, as with anything else he ever says, his word is never to be trusted. The president’s credibility is shot with anyone not brainwashed by the echo. And should this become the first real external crisis of the Trump presidency, unfortunately his incompetence & lack of judgment will probably shine through. America Can’t Afford Another 4 Years
Whenever a nation makes a huge mistake by putting someone in charge who demonstrably appears to be a psychotic madman, it’d better undo that blunder as soon as legally possible. As for his potential opponent, if Bernie keeps underperforming with blacks & moderates, maybe Uncle Joe becomes the man, boosted by newfound momentum from the SC blowout win heading into Super Tuesday. For many of us, Tuesday will be a late night spilling over into Wednesday morning. But whoever emerges from this slog of a Dem primary campaign & becomes the nominee at their convention, be it Biden, Bernie, Bloomberg or Barney Fife, it will be critical to unite & fully back that nominee in order to defeat the current dangerously unfit president. Rallying behind that Dem nominee might be easier said than done if the super delegates have to decide their winner beyond the first ballot at the likely contested convention, creating plenty of hard feelings, but for the good of the country those fences will need mended going from summer into the fall: https://www.alternet.org/2020/
