Part 1
I didn’t follow the newsfeeds quite as much this week. All the headline stories were discouraging to me, explained here in order…
*Sunday Night: Watching more than 50 Super Bowls, it’s a constant reminder to me that my hometown team, the Cleveland Clowns, have never made it to the big game.
*Monday Night: The Iowa Caucuses turned into a fiasco with a faulty code in the apps that were supposed to send in the results. But beyond that hiccup, the obsolete Iowa tradition is probably beyond its usefulness. Presidential hopefuls trudge to that state regularly for more than a year which is disproportionately rural & not diverse, with a long confusing group tally process that disenfranchises candidates & voters alike. The primary season needs to begin with something different than that! Plus I don’t comment on the Dem race any way, so I’m just hoping Dems pick the best candidate who can win in November. And the candidates need to have tunnel vision on contrasting themselves & attacking Trump, rather than sniping at each other.
*Tuesday Night: We expected a liefest last night & Trump didn’t disappoint, spreading distortions, exaggerations & misdirections because that’s who he is, a master con man & BS artist. We can’t trust a word he says, but GOP congresspeople sure seem to fully buy in with their spellbinding chants, turning SOTU into something more like his cult rallies. If the economy & stock market cool off from the sugar-high of his tax cuts for the wealthy wearing off, his bold boasts wouldn’t carry the same weight heading into November.
Despite Trump’s twisted claims, the current economy is a carryover from the Obama economy. The trending downward unemployment rates over many years finally got us to full employment, while GDP & job creation is no better under Trump, plus middle class wages remain stuck in the mud. Obama entered office at the depths of the great recession, so his overall numbers were skewed the first couple years as we were climbing out of a deep hole. Also, manufacturing has struggled lately, so Trump’s statement about a blue-collar boom is bogus.
Other nonsense from Trump were his blatant falsehoods on health care. The prez & his party have done nothing to try lowering costs, including a bill that passed the House to lower prescription drug costs but McConnell is just sitting on it. The GOP plan would also cover fewer people & take away some coverage for preexisting conditions, so that was another flat-out lie from Trump. And overall the speech dished out his typical barrage of partisan division, hate-mongering & fear-mongering. It also lacked cogent proposals moving forward while relying on past accomplishments that were actually inaccurate:
*Wednesday Afternoon:
The rigged trial can best be described by our Part 1 post from Sunday: https://www.thevoracs.com/ part-1-sham-trial-a-national- disgrace-attack-on-democracy/. It was a total joke in light of serious & obvious crimes, proving the GOP really has turned into a cult. Not introducing the most relevant evidence into the trial made it a sham, but it probably wouldn’t have mattered anyway. That’s the way it is with cults, uncompromisingly adhering to crazed tribal irrationalities over the truth:
We Need Political/Election Donors &/or Supporters Who Can Promote, Like Prominent Social Media Influencers
Now that the evil king is no longer in imminent danger of being removed, at least until his next major crime wave is made public, we’re likely stuck with the all-important option of voting him out in November. Readers of The VORACS who visit the blog or are on my email distribution list know full well where I stand. But in an election that might be nothing short of saving our constitutional democracy, for this blog to have the impact it needs, we must find a way to take it to a much larger audience.
So I’ll still post comments & articles whenever a yuge bombshell headline about Trump lands, but if egregious high crimes like the Ukraine bribery/extortion scheme doesn’t move the needle with obedient Republicans, I’m not sure if anything will. That self-boasting claim he could shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue & not lose supporters might actually be true, since his party & echo would just twist things around again, excusing Trump while somehow blaming the Dems. And the Trumpeter base always compliantly believe that rubbish.
If any of you know any potential/interested big-time contributors from a financial or promotion standpoint, please let me know. I’ll keep my Parts 1, 2 & 3 posted just prior to the Super Bowl on the main page of www.TheVORACS.com for now, so any interested parties can easily find some of our signature posts to see what we can do. And my shortened posts like tonight’s & going forward barring a monster shoe dropping, we’ll stash away on the Political Updates page. But for the sake of America, the one major goal it’s essential we achieve between now & November is to defeat Trump, so we can always crank up the commentaries & article links again should we ever get the pivotal help of anti-Trump power players.
Part 1 articles typically report on Trump’s criminal behavior:
