Part Three – Liberal News Is Ranting Against Tax Plan

When we look at the proposed tax plan objectively, the liberal news does have a point.  I honestly don’t believe my center-right views have changed at all.  I still believe in being fiscally responsible, lean towards the hawkish side on national security & I’m more a social conservative.  What has changed are the circumstances.  It goes well beyond just this tax plan.  The GOP mindset has largely shifted way out on the far-right while selling out to big corporate interests & major donors.  Meanwhile, the free-market system has seen the pendulum shift way out towards giving large multinationals the leverage, wealth & power, while the working class have gotten the shaft.  So not only are GOP policies ill-equipped to address those disturbing trends, they actually serve to exacerbate the problems.  As a center-right moderate my views are flexible enough to adapt to the realities of changing circumstances in this modern era & new global economy, whereas the entrenched GOP agenda is not.

In the related articles below, the first few articles reveal particular economic difficulties experienced by young people, workers & older people.  Then there are lots of links to the tax bill, showing the disingenuous wishful thinking to actually believe the working class will really benefit from this.  And the political climate is so toxic, real solutions for helping the working middle class are nowhere to be seen.  The permanent partisan warfare going on in Congress, encouraged by the hyper-partisan news sources on both sides, show no signs of abating & locks in the current destructive gridlock for the foreseeable future.

The Hill article on rural poverty exposes entrenched conditions as their economic vitality steadily slips away:

Demographers and economists point to two self-reinforcing trends. Declines in traditional blue-collar jobs that rural America long relied upon have crippled dominant industries, while younger workers, especially those with higher levels of education, have fled rural areas, robbing their communities of the next generation of new business owners.

 

Rural areas with low populations are far more likely to be reliant on a single industry than their larger metropolitan cousins. The dominant industries in many of those rural regions — manufacturing in the Midwest, resource extraction in Appalachia — have been experiencing long-term declines as automation increases and as energy consumption evolves.

In the article wealthiest 1% own 40% of country’s wealth, we see this unmistakable widening gap:

The wealth inequality gap is worse in the U.S. than in any other country around the world, according to the Post’s analysis of data from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, with the next highest being Germany, where the top 1 percent owns 25 percent of the wealth.

In the next article, Elizabeth Warren offers suggestions how our free market economy can rebound by restoring competitiveness in the marketplace, not allowing the big corporations to dominate & rig the system.  From there we see the link Republicans are helping Trump destroy capitalism, where we find this conclusion:

The more tilted the playing field becomes in favor of entrenched interests, and the more difficult it becomes for people to improve their positions in life, the less well the capitalist system works. Republicans are helping Trump destroy constitutional democracy, and they are even more eagerly killing capitalism.

From there we see links to Trump is doing an awful job of keeping his promises & then the GOP is rotting.  On the jobs report just released,  we again see things on the surface are just hunky dory, but the underlying monster of wages & participation rates stuck in place keep going on & on & on & on.  It looks like we have a two-week reprieve on a potential government shutdown.  And when my comments sound more like liberal news, it’s just a reflection of how much the GOP has lost its way.  In the many links below when we see the subject lines to all the links on the tax plan, we have to ask ourselves is it really designed to help the middle class?  Or is it more a giveaway to the Trump family & his rich friends?

This is not a Christmas song but is definitely contemporary Christian music.  I feel as though I have an important perspective to offer & request you please help spread the message.  As an inspiration from history, centuries ago when the Catholic Church was beset with corruption & false teachings, Martin Luther rebelled against it despite the dangers & consequences, spreading a new message that was very much needed in his day.  So rather than going through the motions following the crowd by parroting the accepted Christian talking points of today, it could be time for evangelicals to do some soul-searching.

Christians should not be yoked with evil.  It’s important to call out a nation’s leader who’s demonstrated to be a chronic liar, bully & moral deviant.  It’s important to call out faith leaders & extremist messaging sources (the echo) who’ve abandoned truth & principles in unconditionally supporting such a waywardly corrupt leader, tainting the evangelical faith with the mark of immorality & hypocrisy.  I believe this spirit of deception must be identified & washed away.  By expressing viewpoints that go against the grain which can get people thinking, I sense this is a calling.  I shall attempt to spread the message far & wide that our faith & our party have been swept up in a dangerous group-mindset of delusion threatening their very existence.  The Good Lord expects us to take the moral high ground.  No sense just going through the motions.
