Part One - News Feeds Keep Overflowing

Did the heat get to him in Phoenix?….

I’ve been dividing up my blog posts into two parts since Trump’s news-making ability is unprecedented, with the number of links to recent relevant articles truly astonishing! That’s not so much the fault of the media, since this debacle of a presidency keeps churning out statements, speeches & actions beyond the pale. Our divisive campaigner-n-chief once again proves this week beyond a shadow of doubt he is failing dismally at his job & is unfit to lead. Listening to that Phoenix speech in front of his rabid fans, Trump came across like an unhinged lunatic, probably because he is an unhinged lunatic. That self-glorifying tribute to himself had his narcissistic egomania on full display. He also loves picking fights with various Americans who refuse to bow at his feet, stirring up hatred for them far more than real enemies like Putin or Jong-un. Recapping the speech as succinctly as I can, besides being deranged, it was lie after lie after lie after lie.

That ingratiating performance in front of a raucous crowd was only meant to feed his ego the rousing cheers, not about advancing a better America or recognizing heroes who tragically gave their lives. It’s amazing he could go on & on & on about his response to the Charlottesville tragedy without acknowledging the woman who lost her life to a white-supremacist terrorist. And his revisionist history repeated his exact statement from last week condemning the violence, but he conveniently left out his original quote the fault came on many sides, which was the main criticism highlighting his obvious false equivalencies. Trump also took the opportunity to congratulate himself for all his wonderful accomplishments in front of his doting fans who’d believe anything he says, but in that long rambling speech couldn’t find the time to recognize the 10 deceased &/or missing sailors who were aboard that warship near Singapore. And with all the problems & challenges America needs to tackle, he did very little to advance any cogent type of policy agenda, since his speech was all about blowing his own horn in front of adoring Trumpeters.

The speech not only featured all those demented boasts, but reprehensibly included inexplicable attacks on others from this despicable person who somehow managed to con his way into the White House. When he states the media/journalists are bad people who don’t like our country, the real truth is they’re doing their jobs by reporting the facts, trying to save our democracy from a rogue leader who’d otherwise try to ride his state-run echo into authoritarian rule. If Trump wants to find the one who really doesn’t like our country & might threaten to bring it down, he should look in the mirror. There’s a cultish nature to Trump’s rallies which is extremely disturbing, where he vilifies anyone who questions his agenda in front of a mesmerized crowd he plays into an angry frenzy. It seems he can’t operate without selecting & viciously attacking enemies. Trump is incapable of being the unifying force America really needs, as he just can’t let go of his favorite targets like Hillary & Obama, but since they no longer hold an official government position, he’s also going after congressmen in his own party. Without a villain, Trump couldn’t stir as much passion in his audience, much like how the echo operates, demonizing & sparking hatred towards anyone outside their bubble. He also perplexingly threatened a government shutdown while tying it in with a crowd favorite, the build that wall chant. So he’s sure to keep governing based on what pleases his narrow base, not on what’s best for America.

It’s not much of a stretch to perceive Trump’s words in that speech are from someone who’s a sociopath. Literally! And comparing the speech in Phoenix to the scripted ones given the day before & day after, it looks like the work of someone who might even be schizophrenic. If indeed he really does have some psychological disorder, perhaps I shouldn’t call him despicable since such a mental condition renders him incapable of controlling himself, so it may not really be his fault. Lest you think I’m taking rude potshots at our President, I saw a number of cable commentators I respect who after the Phoenix speech genuinely engaged in that discussion, whether Trump might be mentally unstable &/or insane, even bringing up the possibility of early-stage dementia. If anything, the Phoenix speech may have furthered the case to invoke the 25th Amendment for removing the President due to mental incapacitation, since America might not be able to risk waiting for the Russian investigations to find proof of criminal activity. There’s another possibility Trump’s erratic destructive behavior is due to him knowing the Russian investigations are closing in on him, so he’s really starting to lose it over the possibility his time in office could be running short. Trump could be terrified on his way out the door he’d be exposed as a criminal, but even worse in his own mind he’d be considered a loser.

There’s also word of quite a milestone where he’s already hitting 1000 verifiable lies during his presidency. So how can we believe anything he says? His credibility is shot with all but the most bamboozled Trumpeters. Trump is such a pathological liar, to him lying is as natural as breathing. But with the echo having his back, Trumpeters are being lied to by their alternative-news universe, so many are not even aware how much of a chronic liar Trump truly (& provably) is. To the others who know he lies constantly & are OK with that, I can only surmise they lack moral integrity. Trump has conditioned his mind to actually believe in his own alternative-reality, thinking everything is true simply because he wills it into existence. And in his fake world, everything he does is perfect & he never makes a mistake. Plus all his opponents are bad, terrible, bad. There’s some articles below where James Clapper after the Phoenix speech also expressed concern about Trump’s mental state & fitness for office, particularly with the President having authority over the nuclear codes. All Americans should rightly be worried about that as well.

But it’s the Russian scandal that really energizes me, since it provides the hope America can right a terrible wrong. An interesting all-day interview occurred this week in front of the Senate committee, where Glenn Simpson, the head of Fusion GPS that was tied to that dossier from a British spy, testified to the validity of the info in that report (he also handed over thousands of pages of documents). Some of the details in the dossier have already checked out, & with Simpson having a credible background as a reporter, it adds more validity. There’s word his testimony transcript could be released soon, with reports also hinting at the British spy, Christopher Steele, has already spoken with the FBI. It seems Mueller is using the dossier as a roadmap on where to find the buried treasure, which if many of the details in there can be verified, it would offer proof of Trump colluding with the Russians. Word has it the Russians were cultivating & corrupting Trump for years. Also new this week are reports about Trump going ballistic on McConnell & other Senators who didn’t adequately suppress the investigation. So now we have proof Trump committed obstruction with the Senate investigation, to go along with the previous obstruction in the House investigation by concocting a diversion with Devin Nunes, & the obvious obstruction of the FBI investigation when Trump intimidated & subsequently fired Comey. So in reality we already have enough evidence to impeach Trump, once it becomes politically viable (Trump losing more of his base) & GOP congress-people show the political will (they resign themselves to believing Trump really is crazy).
