Mulvaney Confession Implicates the President
What an uproar he created! Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney admitted in a press conference they did hatch a plan for a quid pro quo scheme with Ukraine. He admitted it because the White House knows witnesses coming before Congress are blowing the whistle on them, so they’re attempting to get out ahead of the story. In fact, Mulvaney even said they collude all the time with foreign countries & that we should get over it (Trump is now selling those T-shirts). Sure, why not, go ahead & break the law by colluding with Ukraine, Russia, China & anybody else they can get to dig up dirt on their presidential opponents, thereby destroying our democratic electoral process by delegitimizing free elections through outside interference. It appears they have no shame wanting foreign leaders to elect our presidents rather than American voters. The administration is trying to spin that the deal they coerced Ukraine into complying was a legit investigation to weed out corruption, but the only storyline they really cared about was drumming up false accusations to smear Trump’s political opponents.
Incredibly that was the very same crime with Russia which got most of the attention during the 2-year Mueller investigation. Yet they would actually have the nerve to collude with other foreign nations in digging up propaganda supporting their preposterous & debunked conspiracy theories, whether it’s on the Bidens, FBI, DNC servers, Hillary’s emails or the Gingerbread Man. Even if the Bidens were caught doing something shady (which there is zero evidence), it doesn’t change the fact what the White House did with Ukraine is a crime! Trump’s Cluelessness & Incompetence Having Dire Consequences on the World Stage
Trump has essentially turned over power in Syria to Russia. Again we have to ask, what does Putin have over Trump? It’s as though our prez is actually serving as the Russian VP. And 5 years of efforts to secure the peace in Syria while keeping ISIS contained, it was all undone in the less than 5 minutes it took Trump to announce the American troop withdrawal. A U.S./Turkey agreement by Pence a couple days ago for a temporary ceasefire may reduce the violence, while hopefully providing a safe zone & safe passage, but it was done out of desperation after Trump had given up our leverage. And Turkey even said our administration mischaracterized the ceasefire deal as the fighting is still going on. The Ottoman Empire committed genocidal ethnic cleansing against the Armenians a century ago, now their descendants in Turkey seek doing the same evil deeds against the Kurds. Trump’s monumental blunder has unleashed carnage in Syria, with the long-term ramifications even more tragic. Long-time allies are being driven into the arms of Russia, China or worse with faith in America shattered throughout the world. American leadership has been pivotal in preserving peace & democracy around the world for at least a century, but now we’re sacrificing our essential leadership role.
