When Our Democracy is Threatened, Citizens Need to Take Action…Our comments & articles about Fox fake news & evangelicals are at the bottom, but we start with the dangers & mental instability of our president. Yes, we’ve seen how he’s a liar, & a cheat, & corrupt, & caught in immoral acts, & caught in criminal acts, but we’ve increasingly seen beyond that he’s a real risk to democracy & a danger to the whole world. Take away all those minor indiscretions & he might make for a swell president. I’m not sure what it’s going to take in waking people up to the legitimate authoritarian threat we have in the White House, but maybe impeachment will finally serve as a warning sign to more Americans there’s something not very copacetic going on with our president.
A significant portion of our fellow Americans still need informed of the facts, so please use this blog & any other objective/rational/journalistic news sources to circulate truths on behalf of our country. Conservatives who back this prez obviously aren’t getting accurate information, because if they knew what we know about Trump, he’s the last person we’d want as our leader. So in our continuing efforts to educate, we offer up more proof. As seen inside these links, he’s a clear & present danger to our nation & clownish embarrassment on the world stage:
Traits of a True Psychopath
When a narcissist is so self-absorbed that concern for others have no room to enter his psyche, he becomes unable to serve other people or his country. Plus whenever challenged, his ego can’t handle their lack of servitude, so he’s prone to lashing out in anger. But don’t just take my word for it, check out these articles. And oh by the way, one more thing to keep in mind, this temperamental nutjob presides over our nuclear codes:
Domestic Terrorism
It’s been a century & a half since America has been subjected to this high of a risk for civil war. A tribal, vengeful & divisive president is spurring on these violent attitudes:
When a Survey from a Couple Months Ago Indicated 98% of Fox News Viewers Opposed Impeachment…
Prior to the announcement of impeachment proceedings, however, Republicans were united behind Trump, with 94% saying he should not be impeached and removed from office. Feelings are essentially unanimous among two subsets of Republicans: Virtually all Republican white evangelical Protestants (99%) and Republicans who say Fox News is their primary source of news (98%) oppose Trump being impeached and removed from office.
Fox fake news & their echo-conspiracy cohorts keep dishing out the nonsensical spin, which time & time again is revealed to be false. So I can scarcely comprehend the level of naivete it takes to actually believe this stuff the echo constantly dishes out, but even after yet another crazy conspiracy is proven to be a lie, that audience inexplicably keeps coming back for more. This massive echo-messaging machine creates its own feedback loop, sharing a steady stream of fake news distortions that often originate in social media from the alt-right, the Kremlin or the White House. The echo takes those reports & feeds them through the entire right-wing media apparatus, spreading the lies rapidly through the conservative base as it gains unconditional acceptance among the adherents.
The right-wing echo-sphere is a news opinion racket which has found an audience, so they feed their customers what they want for profit no matter how much their increasingly extremist views harm our country. All us rational Americans are continually aghast at their denial of facts & embrace of outrageous conspiracy theories, but that shows the level of brainwashing which occurs when the echo-audience hears the same lies over & over again. So inside their surreal bubble-world, the lies become facts & vice versa. Social media is probably poisoning more people’s minds than Fox, which is really saying something. The links we post are intended to help expose those lies, starting in this first link with Reliable Sources:

When a Survey from a Couple Months Ago Indicated 99% of White Evangelicals Opposed Impeachment…
That should tell us there’s a cult movement at play here. The scandals are providing ample evidence Trump engaged with foreign nations to cheat in our presidential elections, yet their group mindset is nearly unanimous in denying the seriousness of such violations, so to me that has all the markings of a cult. I may sound like a broken record, but how could it be anything other than a cult when any group becomes unified behind such evil. We’re dealing with a president with no discernible integrity or ethics, & none of the fruits of the spirit, so we would think the faithful would come around to realize a leader’s moral character trumps the desire for getting their way on pet issues.
For the record, I was an usher for 20 years in what would be considered the epitome of a white evangelical church, so I know these people (or at least I used to). It’s truly shocking to see the changes. Satan is shrewd & I sense he’s been successful in spreading his lies throughout the church using conservative media (which years ago advanced rational conservative viewpoints before becoming radicalized). The end result is the church’s greater mission by many in evangelical leadership has been exchanged for transactional political power, which the devoted flock has fallen in line. Let’s pray the tide can turn, but it’s tough breaking through a cult mindset.
That Evangelical Christians are finally seeing the facts this week coming not from CNN or the Washington Post, but from a magazine like Christianity Today devoted to them, might offer hope the spirit of deception can soon be lifted. The faithful do need to pay attention & not be dismissive of such tough love, which could make a real difference if even just a small percentage recognized their own slide into hypocrisy enough to flee the deception. Many always come across as so judgmental but refuse to look in the mirror at their own failings. Also the evangelical church badly needs new leadership other than the likes of Franklin Graham.
I do fear evangelicals won’t wake up until the church devolves into a shell of its former self, when they finally realize this venture into idolatry & unholy allegiance to moral debauchery, was all along actually doing the Devil’s work which substantially damaged their Christian witness & growth of God’s kingdom. Undying support & excuse-making for a moral degenerate like Trump are directly opposed to the wisdom, character & teachings of Jesus. Here’s some recent articles we’ve previously posted from prominent evangelical publications, with this CT editorial inside the first link getting a whole lot of attention this week:
And here are interesting responses to the CT article from the past few days:
Wehner Wise Thoughts
With a perceptive response from a viewer to Smerconish after the interview seen in this next link, that no matter how much they’re well-meaning yet unwittingly responsible for the damage, “Evangelicals’ unflinching support of Trump is the best recruitment tool Atheism has had in many decades”…
If you wonder whether the @CTmagazine editorial matters, check out the angry/in some cases petty response from the president and his white evangelical Praetorian Guard. The editorial clearly stung, highlighting the hypocrisy that characterizes many in that movement.
The Trump years have done great damage to evangelicalism and (far worse) to the Christian witness in America. That can’t be undone all at once; but what @CTmagazine did was significant. @TimDalrymple_ /his team were faithful when others who knew better opted for silence. Kudos.
Billy Graham is one of the founders of Christianity Today, which editorialized that Mr. Trump should be removed from office. @Franklin_Graham is one of the impeached president’s most rabid defenders. Which is just one reason why what CT did was impressive and necessary.
A watershed event for 2020. The premier conservative evangelical magazine in America normally respects evangelical opinion across political lines but now calls for the removal of Donald Trump from office as a moral imperative and matter of faith.
