Most Explosive Week Yet For The Scandal
Russia did definitely interfere & possibly sway the election through leaking Hillary campaign emails & by unleashing extensive/widespread fake campaign ads on several social media platforms which were viewed by hundreds of millions of Americans. If Russia could taint our election on their own without pursuing Trump campaign officials, while also seeking a quid pro quo to remove sanctions, maybe they wouldn’t have needed inside help from Americans. Yet the evidence is becoming clear at least some of Trump’s campaign staffers took the bait. The signs of coordination landed hard this week. The reasons for all the various Trump officials having numerous communications with Russians throughout the campaign are increasingly being revealed why. How far up that reaches, investigators are working hard to find out. As the wheels turned just today, we see our Attorney General on the hot seat for possible perjury plus Carter Page testified, which I heard one commentator mention that guy seems so ditsy he should be on Fox & Friends. But these two have a connection, as Page testified today he told Sessions about his Russian trip, which I think means Sessions is not long for his job. The plot thickens & the dots keep connecting! The investigations are really accelerating & getting closer to the top.
From the info released from Mueller on Monday, the meeting in the spring of 2016 attended by Papadopoulos & Trump was when Papadopoulos announced to several campaign staffers (including Sessions) around the table the Russians had thousands of emails with the dirt on Hillary, & they wanted to set up a meeting. Trump himself even expressed an interest in meeting with Putin over the matter (overruled by Sessions), which the fact that meeting never occurred doesn’t hide the fact Trump was both aware of & interested in dealing with the Russians about enlisting their help towards helping his campaign (which is verified by others in that meeting). If proven, that’s probably where collusion first took root right then & there. So that famous question from Watergate asking about Nixon, what did the President know & when did he know it, in Trump’s case it looks like the answer is late March 2016 during that meeting. So we now know that he did know since he did show interest in Papadopoulos’ dealings with the Russians, which if investigators can prove even tacit approval by Trump going forward, let me put this into a simple formula even Trumpeters can understand:
Collusion = Conspiracy Charges = Impeachment
Mueller isn’t showing his hand on any direct evidence he has against Trump so as to not influence witness testimonies going forward. But with his campaign advisers we do know of email communiques where it looks like Papadopoulos was encouraged to pursue his dealings with the Russians by his superior, Sam Clovis, who responded back “great work” & that he would share the info with others in the campaign. The longer this investigation goes on & the more we find out, the more we’ll learn of others caught up in the collusion, likely moving up the chain of command. Remember Donny Jr. & Kushner were both in that Trump Tower meeting which we now know what the primary purpose of that meeting was about, which it’d be preposterous to think daddy-Donald didn’t know about it. Heck, daddy-Donald even wrote the phony alibi. Folks, it’s quite likely we’ll soon find there are numerous criminals both inside & outside the White House & campaign, which I’ll bet the head maestro & former reality TV star was directing the whole show. About 1/3 of the population (Trumpeters) somehow think he still belongs in the White House even if he committed a crime (see part 2 in echo section). The rest of us think he will belong in the big house. The trend is definitely trending in the direction of impeachment, as half the American people now support it. Also half believe he did commit a crime. They sure don’t disclose those kind of dire poll numbers for Trump in the echo.
The related articles below provide loads of links giving relevant info to a very active week for the scandal. In the end, if the evidence proves solid enough, expect numerous aides from the Trump White House & campaign to get caught up in various charges from conspiracy to obstruction to aiding & abetting to money laundering & perjury. Even beyond the administration/campaign staff, I fully expect charges will be filed against periphery players. Admittedly this is mere speculation on my part, but examples of big names not directly part of Trump’s staff who could possibly be implicated are Pompeo, Nunes, Rohrabacher, Mercer & Hannity. This might really get interesting! And there are signs more informants are cooperating with Mueller. I’ve been predicting all along this will turn out bigger than Watergate, so keep track of these messages & just watch how this whole plot plays out. You’ll see stuff from me the echo denies or avoids.
In the article entitled Mueller probe may ground Trump’s unconventional success, this part of the article portrays some ominous signs for the White House where this investigation might be going:
In documents outlining Papadopoulos’ guilty plea, Mueller laid out what appear to be clear attempts by Russian intelligence to court the former foreign policy advisor, through someone identified as a “professor,” a Russian foreign ministry official — likely a cover for an intelligence officer, and a woman he believed to be President Vladimir Putin’s niece. He also delivers a hint that he may not be done with Manafort — including evidence showing that Papadopoulos emailed the campaign manager with the news that Russia wanted to meet with Trump.
He bolstered the case for collusion — in contradiction of the White House claim that there is nothing to answer for — by including an FBI statement saying that, as late as August 2016, a campaign superior told Papadopoulos to go ahead with a trip to Russia to meet officials. But the most daunting disclosure for the Trump camp may be the comment by attorney Aaron Zelinsky on Mueller’s team that the Papadopoulos question was part of a “road map” of a much larger case.
Under that first link, the next set of articles offer an overview, timelines & facts of what we’ve learned so far connected to the scandal. The link titled The Plot Against America traces collusion running through the campaign as evidence of a crime, where it suggests America was attacked through a partnership between a foreign intelligence service & what is now our presidential administration. Rubin’s article right under that describes how Mueller deals in facts, the President deals in lies. Further on down the links we see there’s trouble in family paradise with our President perhaps showing signs of falling more into madness, which one article even describes him as apoplectic, so he’s taking Bannon’s advice & directing his barbs (& blame) towards sonny-in-law Jared. I wouldn’t put it past Trump he’d throw Kushner under the bus, much to Ivanka’s chagrin, since they might be getting wind Mueller is closing in on sonny-in-law, including questions arising over his (brilliant?) advice to fire Comey. Through the media Trump is painting a brave public face by saying everything is serene & in control within the White House, nothing to see here, we’re not worried. Truth be told, they’re in panic mode!
If he further takes Bannon’s advice & changes his legal team, where the strategy would change to a full-throated battle against Mueller & the investigations, we could have a full-fledged constitutional crisis on our hands very soon. The establishment & deep state might be fat cats & corrupt, but they’re not evil like the echo, so if those normal levers of institutional power don’t stop a fascist dictator, drastic steps could well be required. Much as we never would have thought such chaos could have ever come to the executive branch & the governing institutions of these United States, such a crisis that’s a direct attack on our rule of law could play out with emergency measures more resembling the third world, where Congress may need to take direct action to protect the investigations &/or commence impeachment proceedings. Or within the White House itself they may need to invoke the 25th Amendment &/or the generals might even be forced to stage a temporary coup.
That’s how unstable & dangerous this situation is becoming. Worst case scenario would be our first civil war in the last century & a half, since the echo has turned their audiences into a veritable lunatic fringe, with 80% of the GOP base & 100% of Trumpeters would still back Trump even if proven guilty of an impeachable offense. But our Constitution & democracy are worth fighting & winning this war! I’m not saying such terrible events are probable, but what I am saying is we need to be vigilant enough to watch the signs! A sign such as any plot to try & dismiss Mueller. In painting those worst-case-scenarios, it’s really for the benefit of conservatives lost in the subterfuge coming from the echo, since they need a wakeup call! Unless they really hate America enough to want to destroy it.
Almost all the huge number of links below are all about Russia. Among the group of links below include getting to the bottom of the fake-ads onslaught on social media, where it’s curious how in the testimonies with social media executives grilled on the hill, it is rather interesting how some of the Trump ads mimicked what the fake Russian ads said. Signs of coordination here? Towards the bottom links, there’s polling Americans side with Mueller & also believe Trump committed a crime. Plus see a group of links where after the NYC terrorist attack where a President should offer unifying words of wisdom, he politicized the moment & irresponsibly blamed Chuck Schumer for a diversity immigration system enabling the attack, a program Schumer was actually among a group who tried to stop that program a few years ago.
So our President’s impulsive/impetuous leadership once again displays his judgement is as lacking as his temperament & truthfulness. And about that terrorist attack, I don’t know Arabic, but something tells me when someone shouts Allahu Akbar in a loud crazed way, we may be up against pure evil. In conclusion, as we’ve seen this was a huge week on scandal news, the biggest so far. As the President heads off to Asia, it could be a good time for those left behind in the White House to float the idea of the 25th Amendment if needed soon, plus GOP members of Congress to discuss among themselves the possibility of impeachment as more shoes keep dropping, especially with the next election cycle now a year away.
Views From the Far-Left
The media is cautious to protect their credibility, not revealing things till their reports are backed by solid sources. That’s why the Kos with their bold, freewheeling style tends to jump the gun on the news with their unabashed no-holds-barred approach. They don’t always get it right, but what they do get right they get first. Much of their opinions are speculation, but they try to refrain from the outright lies heard regularly in the far-right echo. So as is normally the case, the hard-hitting articles below are interesting. It starts out with even White House staff think Trump is guilty, so they’re on pins & needles as they try to control him. But the walls are closing in. Next we see Page testifying Sessions knew about his Russian trip! Whoops, looks like Sessions was all wrong earlier this year while under oath. Then we learn of another Trump crony, Sam Clovis, joining the fray. Sure, the Kos always paints Trump in a horrible light, but that doesn’t mean they are incorrect. In due time they might be proven to have been right on!
