Part One – I Never Thought I Could Say These Things About A President

But America has never seen a leader like Trump….

This morning we saw a grieving mom with two kids & pregnant with a third, who earlier this month lost her husband in an ambush in Niger.  The details surrounding his death are still unknown, only that it took two days to retrieve his body which was so badly disfigured, she wasn’t permitted to view his body.  So we’ve seen images of her weeping on her husband’s closed casket.  This morning we also saw our President disputing the accounts of his conversation with this heartbroken widow.  There are many times we’ve seen Trump punching down against those who disagree with him.  But to get into a tit-for-tat with an emotionally distraught mother who just lost her husband under unknown circumstances, dealing with an unimaginable sorrow many of us could never relate to, there is no rationale for even questioning this widow at this time.  It’s the byproduct of a very sick mind.  Any sane leader would leave well enough alone by only offering words of comfort & vow to find out how her husband was murdered, not refute her statements.  You just cannot go there!  Or even think about it!  Plus based on Trump’s track record, I’m 99.9% sure Trump is the one who’s really lying here.  But even if the widow in her sorrow doesn’t accurately recall the exact details of their phone conversation accurately, the last thing a president should ever do is call her out!

We saw during the campaign the very same thing we’re seeing during his presidency, that Trump lacks the judgement, knowledge, temperament, moral character or even the tactful honesty to serve as our President.  He just doesn’t.  This spat with another Gold Star family again shows it!  Every week & virtually every day with the chaos & animosity Trump constantly creates, how much more proof do we need our President is a living, breathing disaster?  These continuing incidents & inexcusable spats Trump is always dredging up indicate he not only struggles with being President, he can hardly function as a normal human being.  Contradicting a grieving widow this morning once again highlights what I’ve been saying about him for more than two years, which is hard for observant & objective people to refute if they look at his leadership honestly, that he’s simply a despicable person.  All his misstatements, angry tweets, detachment from reality, self-consuming focus, it’s just revolting.  Anyone who so badly misreads & lies about most any given situation, & is now the leader of our country, between now & January 2021 he’s bound to make numerous impulsive decisions that will be terrible, dangerous & even catastrophic for America.  That’s why I’m placing so much hope in the Mueller investigation, or the 25th Amendment might come into play, to soon remove this glaring mistake & curse from the White House.

I never would have dreamed ever saying such things about a sitting president, especially since as Americans we must always respect the office.  But Trump is unique from anything we’ve ever seen, a clear & present danger.  That’s why it’s so important to warn Americans who aren’t paying attention or maybe aren’t nearly as savvy, since we must call him out & do our best to rein him in, trying to stop this prez from giving into his worst instincts.  Cubs fan thinks I must be a liberal just because I would have preferred Hillary or Bernie in the White House, but this goes way beyond ideology.  Far better a Dem or far-left progressive lead the country than someone who from all outward appearances may well be a narcissistic sociopath.  It’s just way too dangerous in this increasingly dangerous world to put someone in charge who may have a screw loose.  And remember my preference for Hillary or Bernie doesn’t speak to my political leanings, since I’ve often mentioned even before the election I’d choose Barney Fife, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd or Homer Simpson over Trump, so it’s a rather low bar.

Now for a review of the perspectives awaiting us behind the many links below.  Starting out with scandal news, it’s interesting a Senate panel interviewed the Russians who were in that infamous Trump Tower meeting the previous summer.  Since they’re Russians, we don’t know whether they’re willingly coming clean on the meeting or are they spreading disinformation.  There is continuing concern the congressional investigations remain overly partisan, with Nunes in particular still throwing curveballs even though he had supposedly recused himself.  That’s why Mueller’s team provides the best hope of unveiling the facts.  But they have really tightened up on the leaking not wanting to show their hand, so reports through the media interesting to us have been rather sparse lately.  That’s why whenever they do decide to reveal their findings, it could be full of bombshells that hit us all at once.  And such revelations could come any day now or be months away, as we have no way of knowing what Mueller is discovering.  Other scandal articles talk of Trump’s blind spot over Russia & his overbearing influence over U.S. Attorney candidates in jurisdictions where Trump himself has a footprint (quite curious & suspicious).  Also curious & suspicious would be Trump helping pay the legal fees of some of his minions, so would his motives be offering them hush money?  And is Trump really paying, or is the money coming from his businesses, or is it from the RNC &/or campaign contributors?  Trump embodies the term conflicts of interest.  Or will it play out what has happened so often in the past, where he pledges to pay but suffers amnesia over his promises.

In the links below Russia, there are several articles on the ridiculous spat with a Gold Star family that Trump really instigated through his lacking sympathy & honesty.  See the Mother Jones article explaining condolencegate that yet again shows Trump is a terrible human being.  That is followed by several links where Gen. Kelly frittered away much of his political capital last week.  Kelly was brought in to try & keep Trump in line, but instead Trump is bringing him down to his level.  Through his deplorable personal traits & leadership example, Trump corrupts all those around him.  Trump lies about everything that can serve his means, but he’s instructed all his minions to lie likewise.  Then once they’re done being exploited as useful idiots for him, Trump discards them.  Other links have North Korea as a danger Trump is considering his options, which may turn out extremely good or disastrously bad.  We also must increase our defenses against potential attacks.  See other links about Trump’s obvious lack of character & divisive nature, with GOP statesmen like Jeb & McCain calling out the destructive direction we’re being taken, with the murmurs secretly spreading throughout GOP leadership.  There’s also another Steve Schmidt video well worth watching, followed by more of Trump’s sagging polls & deservedly so.  The final link below provides reasoned points, whether he lasts in the White House another 3 months or 3 years, on why he will go down as the worst president ever.

Catch these comments from Bob Corker.  WOW!!!  But he’s just being perfectly honest about our President.  Corker just said there’s no way he’d support him again, Trump’s legacy will be the debasement of our nation, & that the President has great difficulty with the truth.  Or as I’ve been saying over & over about Trump, it’s lie after lie after lie after lie.

No longer a viable party….

We are witnessing the disintegration of the GOP as it self-destructs.  A deplorable President lacking moral authority, extremists holding seats in Congress, a deceptive & unhinged messaging source from the echo, & the millions who follow & believe in their radicalized nihilistic vision, will destroy the GOP & may take our country with it.  A party taken over by the alt-right, tea partiers, libertarians, echo-voices & trumpians cannot be sustained & won’t survive for long.  But in the mean time our nation pays a heavy price.  We must continue to strive to educate a conservative base which has become so badly misguided & misinformed.

There’s still hope maybe as the party self-implodes, out of the ashes a sane/governing GOP can emerge, or maybe a new party with a different identity can surface, so we can overcome the toxic extremism which has hijacked the party many of us had supported for a lifetime until recently.  As we continue to see our most capable leaders stepping down from their roles in DC, it should serve as a warning we’re most assuredly going in the wrong direction.  With a great speech today by Jeff Flake following Corker’s comments this morning, let it be a chance for all still in the GOP to look in the mirror, so all of us can come to understand the gravity of the moment before our freedoms & democracy may soon slip away from us.
