Progressive bloggers know Trump is nuts

So my comments are a hit with the left, progressive bloggers, but my thoughts need to somehow sink in with the right.  Remember, it’s the GOP we seek to fix.  Yes, we do need conservative media.  It’s important to balance the (arguably) liberal media.  But such a conservative media should provide a genuine, realistic conservative narrative.  What the echo has devolved into is a pit of vipers, angry propagandists spreading falsehoods, conspiracies & radicalized rhetoric detached from the real world.  The stuff they keep digging up is consistently preposterous.  The nutjobs hosting the echo shows, always trying to distract from the real news, are lately pressuring the DOJ to launch whatever concocted investigations they can dig up against Hillary as a diversionary tactic to avoid the real Russian scandal.  I guess the echo still wants to impeach Hillary?

One of the most perplexing mysteries in our nation’s history is how the echo-audience & Trump base keep falling for all the distortions, lies & conspiracies.  Roughly 1/3 of the population, whom I refer to as Trumpeters, unconditionally believe in the falsehoods enough to unwittingly support a wanna-be dictator.  Apparently, they lack the discernment, the intelligence, are highly gullible, or simply align with tribal allegiances over truths (no doubt a combination of all these are in play), to where we really do risk sliding into a dark place.  The danger lies in if that 1/3 Trumpeter proportion were to climb to roughly 1/2 or more of the population, our constitutional democracy may be lost forever.  That’s how perilously close we are, through ignorance & abdicating values, to sacrificing our free democratic society that made America great.  We must break this far-right fever by spreading the truth.  Especially with Trump & his echo lying constantly, the truth should really stand out.

Please avail yourself of the related articles below & also share.  The great conundrum is the people who most need to review this information, are typically the same ones refusing to leave their extremist bubble of echo-falsehoods.  But we should try & expose them to reality.  A few of those hardcore adherents in far-right bubble-land might still see the light.  The first group of links highlights more chicanery emanating from the bubble, especially Fox fake-news & specifically the over-the-top insanity on Hannity.  And as an article explains, Fox is truly Trump’s state-TV.  And they did win the Rasmussen’s “fake news poll.” We conducted a Twitter poll of our own and Fox unanimously won.

We then see a number of links showing a week of unprecedented lies & conspiracies coming straight from Trump.  From trying to deny it was him on the Access Hollywood video, to accusing a popular morning TV host of murder, to releasing a phony anti-Muslim video, plus resorting to the old standbys of Hillary’s emails & Obama’s birthplace, the nuttiness never lets up!  So while the echo & Trumpeters are unwavering & unprincipled compliant servants, most Americans see him as a disgrace & even close allies like the British Prime Minister have become infuriated.  Our credibility all around the world has nosedived.  And it gives us even more reason to doubt his sanity.  The links to the Art of the Deal author’s comments reveal he believes Trump is deeply mentally ill & aides within the White House are very concerned.  Also see The Hill article where word has it from Trump allies he has early-stage dementia.  The very next article calls him “a madman,” so take your pick.

From there we see a link on Trump’s proxy of racism, revealing this disturbing reality about our prez & his followers in these four paragraphs:

These are not mistakes. These are not coincidences. This is not mere bungling. These are revelations of the soul. This is who Trump is and who he has always been. This is who he was before he entered politics, and who he remains.  The Trump Doctrine is White Supremacy. Yes, he is also diplomatically inept, overwhelmed by avarice, thoroughly corrupt and a pathological liar, but it is to white supremacy and to hostility for everyone not white that he always returns.  When the political vise tightens on him, he just so happens to find a nonwhite target to attack.  When his tongue gets loose within him, he just so happens to find a nonwhite target to attack.

Anyone who doesn’t see this is choosing not to. They are clueless as an act of convenience, willfully blind and intentionally ignorant. Or conversely, they not only see it, but cheer it.  Either way, the people who elected Trump and those who continue to support him are to blame for what they have inflicted on this country.  Republicans had a choice of 17 nominees; they chose Donald Trump. The party threw its weight behind him. Many of the candidates who had vigorously opposed Trump, including on moral grounds, endorsed him. Millions of voters who had voted for other candidates also voted for Trump.

So never let these people feed you the lie that they voted for Trump only because they didn’t have a choice and they wanted to vote against Hillary Clinton. They had a choice, and they chose the magnification of their darkest demons.  They nominated and elected a sexist, bigoted, white-supremacist sympathizer because, to them, those traits were, on the one hand, not disqualifying, and on the other hand, commendable.  Some reason that they needed a Republican, even this opportunistic Donny-Come-Lately, for the conservative judges and tax cuts that would outlast whatever bad behavior he brought to bear. Others actually wanted the anointing of their own racial animosity.  But I see only shades of difference between open racial hostility and the accommodation of racial hostility. It’s all interrelated and interdependent.

There is no way to maintain your honor when you have given Trump your blessing. There is no way to claim that your position is about conservative ideology when you support a man who keeps demonstrating that he is obsessed with an ideology of color.  Trump is your baby, Rosemary. I give no quarter to Trump or to the people who still support his demonstrated hostility to my and every other person of color’s right to live without being, as James Baldwin put it, “menaced and marked” — by the leader of my own country.  I believe in diversity and tolerance. But the tolerance of a hateful ideology is not inclusiveness, but appeasement, and of that I will have no part.  If you support Trump and his racial hostility, you and I have absolutely nothing to discuss. Nothing!

Trump the other morning sent out an extremely offensive anti-Muslim video showing a Muslim migrant attacking a disabled kid, which the video was a fake.  Press secretary Huckabee’s daughter explained that it really doesn’t matter the video wasn’t real (& yet they have the gall to call the media fake).  By that logic it must be perfectly OK for the President to lie to us (which he does several times a day anyway), plus it’s smart to anger & provoke a billion Muslims in the world, especially at a time when preventing terrorism first & foremost requires persuading Muslims not to adopt the radical jihad interpretation of their faith.  It’s also serving to energize the wacky international white nationalist movement & neo-Nazi groups.

For any of these alternative realities created by Trump, progressive bloggers can easily see all these nutty claims are phony, so why is it so hard for conservatives to see it?  Or maybe they just don’t want to admit it.  Inside The Hill’s link Trump’s Putin-like attacks on CNN, here are paragraphs from the article that help illuminate the autocratic threat Trump poses:

The list of foreign correspondents of CNN and other news organizations who deserve standing ovations from a grateful nation is too long to list in a single column. Trump’s Putin-like attacks against them endangers their lives and gives aid and comfort to every dictator who treats reporters as enemies of the state.

Trump’s untruth is timeless because, throughout history, dictators, crooks and torturers have attacked journalists who have brought the truth to the people. If Trump’s untruths attacking the free press are proven to be an attempt to mislead citizens or obstruct investigations of Russia’s continuing attack against America, the legal consequences for Trump could be grave indeed.

With investigations of the Russian scandal involving great secrecy, it is a profound achievement that the justice and political reporting of CNN, NBC, CBS, The Washington Post, The New York Times and other outlets has been proven right so often and wrong so rarely.

It is shocking that while American authorities investigate the Russian attack against our democracy spearheaded by Putin, Trump refuses to acknowledge the existence of the attack, while imitating Putin’s contempt for a free press.

Those with power who fear the facts attack those in the free press who report those facts. Dictators who fear the power of the truth as reported in the news treat the free press as the enemy of the people, with words similar to those used by Trump today.  

In the very next article, former CIA Director & National Security Agency Director Michael Hayden said Trump’s attacks on the media are an outrageous assault on the First Amendment, going on to say: “If this is who we are or who we are becoming, I have wasted 40 years of my life.”
